Playcebo uses no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no third-party trackers. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, nothing that follows you across other sites.
The only cookie we use
A single strictly-necessary session cookie lets our content team securely log in to the admin area. It’s only set when someone logs into admin — if you’re just playing Playcebo, it isn’t used. Strictly-necessary cookies are exempt from consent under UK law.
How the app remembers you
The player app keeps you signed in using secure tokens stored on your own device — not cookies, and never for tracking.
Why there’s no cookie banner
Because we only use a strictly-necessary cookie and no tracking, UK law (PECR) and UK GDPR don’t require a consent banner. We show this notice for transparency instead. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we’ll add a proper consent mechanism first.
